As I've mentioned before on this blog, Aaron's friend Daniel Ray Herrera is a pitcher for the Cincinatti Reds. It has been so exciting for Aaron to follow his life and career in the major leagues and Aaron doesn't miss a Reds broadcast. For months now, Aaron's been talking about Danny Ray coming to play the Dodgers and we were so happy to get the chance to go and see him. Danny Ray called on Sunday to touch base with Aaron and he was sweet enough to put some players tickets aside for us.
Aaron took his boss, Dave, to the game on Monday night. The guys left early to make it to Chavez Ravine in time for batting practice and an opportunity to see Danny Ray warming up. Unfortunately, the player will call took too long and BP was over by the time Aaron and Dave got their tickets. Nonetheless, they had a great time and got to see Danny Ray pitch in the 8th inning.
Of course, Aaron took our new camera which has an awesome one click feature that is great for action shots.
So, last night was my turn. We met at home and headed out to the game. There was a huge power outage in Malibu that made traffic a little worse than usual, but we made it, got our tickets, and found our seats. There were 4 people sitting next to us and one of them overheard me say "D Ray". Turns out, his son (1 of the 4 people next to us) was Danny Ray's coach at University of New Mexico. We were all excited when Danny Ray came in to pitch in the 6th inning.
After the game, we headed down to the field (courtesy of our players tickets) and waited to see Danny Ray on his way out to the bus. It was quite an exciting experience being down there and seeing players up close. Unfortunately, we somehow missed each other and didn't get to see him. Either way, it was a great night out and it's always a treat to get to see a game, especially with the connection Aaron has to D Ray.
(Have I mentioned how much I LOVE our new camera?)
We're halfway to the weekend, people! Happy Wednesday!
