Labor Day Weekend

We're back after a great weekend away. Tahoe was lovely and we have LOTS of pictures to show for it! **NOTE** you can click on any of the collages to enlarge the pictures...I know some of them are pretty small!

We flew into Reno on Saturday morning and picked up our rental car at the airport. It was all pretty easy and it went really smooth, which is always a good start to a vacation. We plugged in Aaron's GPS and we were on our way to North Lake Tahoe. After about a 45 minute drive, we arrived at Jason's Beachside Grille, one of my favorite restaurants in Tahoe. I was worried that it would be packed, being a holiday weekend and all, but without any waiting, we were seated at a table with a beautiful lake view.

After a delicious meal, we continued our drive and stopped at Emerald Bay for some great photo opportunities.

The timing worked out perfectly for us to then head to the South shore to meet my Mom, Aunt and Uncle, and cousin, Kristi at the cabin to check in. We unloaded the cars and relaxed, all of us just happy to be back in beautiful Lake Tahoe.

On Sunday morning, we headed out early for crayfishing on the pier. They were really hungry and we managed to catch 39, pretty effortlessly, thanks to our "system" of Aaron being underneath the pier with a strainer so that we didn't have to pull the crayfish all the way up to the pier.

After some lunch, we hit up the beach and Bran and T met us down there, after driving in from the Bay Area where they went to a wedding Saturday night.

Bran and Kristi had fun with the frisbee and Aaron had fun capturing it!

The next morning, we headed out on another crayfishing expedition. Not sure what happened, but we only managed to catch 10 because there weren't really any in the water! Oh well, we had fun anyway.

After lunch, Bran and Kristi decided to hike up the rocks outside the cabin to check out the view. From the top, they called Aaron to come meet them. Then, Aaron recruited me. And finally, we got T up there too. The views were totally worth the climb, don't you think?

We then packed up the cars (Kristi and my Uncle were leaving, too) but, of course, we managed to sneak in just a few more pictures before we had to head back to the Reno airport. It was so awesome to be there and I told Aaron that it's so great that we can always go back to where "we" started when and where Aaron proposed.

Looking through these pictures makes me so excited for Ryan and Sarah's wedding in North Lake Tahoe next summer and Labor Day 2010. There is nothing better than being in a beautiful place with people you love and I'm so grateful for this family tradition.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!
